As a writer, there’s really no in between. You sort of have to write what you’re really feeling, you kind of have to be vulnerable with your emotions. I mean you don’t have to – but if you aren’t, the writing is no good. I’ve always been the type to wear my heart on my sleeve so it’s no surprise that it spills into my writing. When I was a little girl I always knew that I wanted to write, God planted that dream in my heart long before I even knew why or how or when. I never knew what my writing would be about, I definitely never thought my first book would be about this, but life kind of has a way of surprising you, you know?
This book poured out of me in the Summer of 2017 when I least expected it, which I’ve found is when God does some of His best work – forever throwing out the “I bet you didn’t see this coming” line. Which He was right (yet again), I didn’t, but it was the sweetest most healing thing for my heart and I pray that it is for yours too. That’s all that matters to me, that you read my writing and feel a shift within your heart to know that you are never alone in your pain, to know that you are loved deeply by the Creator of your heart, and to start truly believing that you are worthy of a love here on earth that reflects the way Jesus loves you. I spilled my heart over these 260 pages in hopes that you’ll spill yours – over to the One who made it, who knows it best, who loves you more than anything in this world.
Four Sweet Seasons is a collection of poems, based on true events, that tells a story in chronological order of heartbreak, healing, and redemption. It’s filled with messy and raw thoughts on love, loss, heartbreak, depression, self worth, and surrender.
The book is divided into four chapters, starting with the Fall – each one representing the seasons as the story quite literally unfolded similarly in real life. It takes the reader on a journey of true heartbreak, wandering through the wilderness, finding your true self, and sweet heart healing all with the love of Jesus Christ. I hope you love it, I hope it makes you realize you are never alone, I hope it cracks open your soul to wanting to know your Creator, I hope it pushes you to find your true self and hold tight to it, I hope it brings healing for your heart, I hope it makes you curious about Jesus if you never knew Him before picking up the book, I hope if you already know Jesus that it sweetens your relationship, I hope it brings you strength and grace to wait patiently for the one that God has for you, I hope so many good things for your heart and I can’t wait to hear about them. So please don’t hesitate to share them with me, I’d love to hear from you!
